Made by two people who wanted something that didn't exist yet
PROJECT CLÆR exists because we wanted blue-light glasses that didn't ask us to choose between protection and colour accuracy.
IT STARTED AT A CHINESE RESTAURANT
We weren't trying to solve anything. We were just talking — half-joking about starting something together, before either of us knew if it was real.
Somewhere in there, blue-light glasses came up. Ari was the one who asked the obvious question: why does the lens have to be yellow at all? Why not just make it clear?
That should have been a small idea. It wasn't. As a designer, colour accuracy isn't a preference for me — it's the job. So the joke stopped being a joke, and we spent the next six months finding a Japanese optical lens precise enough to actually do it.
One of us asked the question that started this. The other spent six months making sure the answer was right. Both of us have been wearing test pairs longer than either of us would like to admit.
WHAT WE LISTEN TO WHILE WE WORK
A running playlist from the studio — updated whenever we find something worth keeping.
